APC WORKS FOR YOU!

Food Safety: APC leads the industry in developing best practices and training on food safety and represents the industry in crisis management. APC provides industry, government, media and consumers with answers to questions on food safety and pesticide issues.

Export Promotion: APC manages a $3.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to promote U.S. grown peanuts and peanut products around the globe. We manage and monitor global promotions that allow many international products using U.S. peanuts to proudly display the "Quality USA" logo.

Standards: APC works to provide uniform standards in the industry and utilize new technology for greater efficiencies, such as;

  • The electronic Trade Document Exchange converts paper trade documents to a secure electronic format improving efficiencies for members and customers.
  • The Tote Bag Committee establishes uniform specifications and procedures for tote bags to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Information and Communications

The APC team keeps you up to date with the latest intelligence on the global peanut industry, providing a one-stop shop for all your communication needs. APC communicates important industry information to our members via:

  • News flash emails, weekly media summaries and a bimonthly newsletter
  • Special publications and position statements
  • Website and social media
  • Weekly peanut prices, monthly U.S. export statistics and more!

Peanut Butter for the Hungry: A humanitarian initiative of the peanut industry in the U.S. (growers, shellers, manufacturers and allied industry members) to help malnourished children in places where resources are limited by providing protein-rich peanut butter and peanut-based “ready-to-use therapeutic food.” RUTF is revolutionizing the treatment of severe acute malnutrition. (pb4h.org).

The Peanut Research Foundation: directs and supports peanut research on behalf of all segments of the peanut industry. (peanutresearchfoundation.org)

  • The foundation has concluded a five-year, $6 million project to map the peanut genome giving scientists the capability to find beneficial genes in cultivated and wild peanuts that can lead to greater yields, lower losses to disease, improved nutrition, better flavor and virtually anything that is genetically determined by the peanut plant. These accomplishments have opened doors for breeders to manipulate peanut traits without using controversial and expensive GMO techniques.
