LaurenGreeversLauren Greevers began her career at General Mills after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Systems and Technology, a degree comprising the selection, processing, preservation and packaging of food products based upon chemistry, biology, and engineering principles as well as making foods healthier, tastier and safer.

Lauren’s degree prepared her well for a five-year position as a Research and Development Technician involved with the development of frozen vegetables, marinara sauce, organic snack bars, organic soup, and cereal in addition to long-term research into sodium and sugar reduction tools in Big G cereals and Progresso soups.

This led to a promotion as a R & D Senior Technician in frozen fruit and vegetable research and development. She also developed innovative new products for the Green Giant and organic Cascadian Farm brands and led product safety evaluations for many of General Mills product lines.

In 2015, Lauren transitioned from research and development into procurement, spending a year as a Sourcing Category Specialist supporting General Mills value-added ingredient categories of flavors, spices, seasonings, colors, enrichments, chemicals, salt, and fillings/pouches.

Subsequently, she was promoted to Buyer for ingredients including colors, vitamin enrichments, chemicals, sauce pouches, fillings, icings, and salt.

In December 2018, Lauren was promoted to Senior Buyer for Nuts across General Mills vast peanut and tree nut materials. She is responsible for supplier management, cost savings, and source-to-pay processes.

During her career, Lauren won the Invention of the Year Award for sugar reduction work on Big G Cereal, Collaboration Giants Award for outstanding teamwork in the launch of Seasoned Steamers, and, most recently, a GMI Impactful Sourcing award for cross-functional partnership in the Nuts category.

She currently lives with her husband and three children in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area.
